Donations
Established in 1985 as a
non-profit organization and operated by volunteers. The majority of our
income is received from memberships and donations.
For
more than 20 years, the Jacksonville Maritime Museum has been an independent,
non-profit museum dedicated to telling the stories of hard work, courage,
and sacrifice that are the maritime history of the First Coast. Knowledge
and values
of history inspire us to face challenges of modern life in new, creative
ways. To achieve that vision, the Museum relies on the financial support
of visitors,
donors and members.
Every item the Museum acquires gives us important
information about the past and we are always looking for related artifacts
and documents to
add to our
collection.

Setting Sail to our New Location
The Jacksonville Maritime Museum’s location
on the South-bank of the St. Johns River is ideal. However, our present
building is no longer
large
enough
to house the numerous artifacts and historical displays
we have collected. We are privileged to have amassed a large collection;
however, we
must now set
our course towards the task of raising the necessary
monetary means to move forward on this exciting venture.
Our future plan is
to have a waterfront location of approximately 13,000 sq. ft. with dockage
to accommodate visiting
vessels. Our goal is to
raise $1,000,000.
We happily invite your support with this program
to allow the Museum to continue to preserve the city’s
Maritime history. We hope that, before long, you will visit
us at this new location.
Your contribution will determine the size and location of
the museum.
A receipt for your tax deductible contribution
will be sent by return mail.
